Black Pepper (Piper nigum)

 

Uses: Antibacterial, Anti-inflammatory, Antiseptic, Circulatory, Diuretic, Stimulant, Immune booster, Digestive issues

 

Precautions: Presumed safe for use during pregnancy, although there are some concerns that large doses may trigger miscarriage. Use with caution. Black Pepper is a potent stimulant. Research has shown that Black Pepper can boost adrenaline levels by 50%. Black Pepper may affect the way certain medications are metabolized by the liver and may increase the effects and side effects of those medications. Black pepper may have a diuretic effect, decreasing how well the body breaks down certain medications, leading to increased side effects, and altered drug levels.
